Hi everybody,
We hope that you are all still keeping well and enjoying some sunshine!
We have been working away from the office for three and a half months and thought now would be a good time to update you on how we are continuing to work in the current situation, as we enter the phase of the “new normal”.
Like much of the country, our in-house project management and quality control teams have been settling into working from home, getting used to the quirks of working at kitchen tables, being interrupted by children and pets, and desperately missing the Wessex cake table (and each other of course!). We are pleased that our set-up has been very successful, enabling us to provide an uninterrupted service to our clients throughout this time.
Although our team are still working away, lockdown in the UK has given us all a bit more free time in our evenings and weekends than we are used to. If you fancy a peek at what the Wessex team has been up to during lockdown, take a look here!
Thanks to the nature of our work, our hard-working team at home and our reliable team of professional translators (who are already seasoned work-from-home pros), we have been continuing to deliver our top-quality translation services, including helping many of our clients to translate their new essential COVID-19 health and safety or business continuation documentation.
But what about face-to-face interpreting?
Wessex Translations regularly provides interpreting services for public services and business settings including medical and social services appointments, court proceedings, business meetings, conferences and interviews. Wessex’s usual team of qualified, experienced interpreters have now moved online, and have been successfully providing their excellent services through video calls. This is testament to the professionalism and reliability of our team of interpreters.
On top of this we are launching a new telephone interpreting service – an on-demand service providing instant access to an interpreter over the telephone for last-minute, urgent or out-of-hours requirements. See our new blog post for more information.
We are all looking forward to being back in the office working together but for now we are happy to still be supporting our clients, each other and our fantastic suppliers remotely.
Wishing you all the best from the whole team at Wessex Translations.
